Daniele Corraini
Daniele graduated in Biomedical Sciences MSc at Utrecht University in 2022.
During his Master's course, he built up his background on intervertebral disc degeneration in Laura Creemers group (Orthopedics, University Medical Center) focusing on pain markers expression, nerve fibers ingrowth, and establishment of an in vitro model of neurites growth in the degenerated intervertebral disc.
Currently, as a PhD candidate in Marianna Tryfonidou's group (Regenerative Orthopedics, Utrecht University), he is working on the NC-CHOICE project, which aims at developing an advanced cell-free treatment based on extracellular vesicle technology to rejuvenate the worn-out intervertebral disc.
He aims to develop an innovative and effective regenerative therapeutical strategy to restore degenerated intervertebral disc and ultimately treat low back pain.
