Stefan Dudli
I am a molecular biologist with a strong background in biochemistry, mechanobiology, and osteoimmunology. I earned my PhD from ETH Zurich, and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California San Francisco in the group of Prof. Lotz, and the University of Zurich, where I currently lead my research group at the Center of Experimental Rheumatology. A focus of my research is on Modic changes associated with chronic low back pain, exploring bacterial involvement and immune mechanisms underlying their pathogenesis. I have developed patented diagnostic tools, such as the Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy system now commercialized as NOCISCAN by Aclarion. I actively participate in international research collaborations, including the NIH Back Pain Consortium (BACPAC). My work has been recognized with several awards, including the ISSLS Basic Research Award and multiple Best Paper Awards from ISSLS and ORS, and supported by significant funding from organizations like the Swiss National Science Foundation.
