CURRICULUM VITAE OF GIACOMO RIZZOLATTI Giacomo Rizzolatti studied in Padua where he graduated in Medicine (1961) and Neurology (1964). He received his training in Physiology at the University of Pisa (1965-68) and in Psychology at the McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada (1970-71). Most of his scientific career has been done at the University of Parma where he is, at present Professor Emeritus of Human Physiology. He has been “Visiting professor” at the Department of Anatomy of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia (1979-1980), and “Sage Professor” at University of California, Santa Barbara (2007). He has been President of the European Brain Behaviour Society, of the Italian Society for Neuroscience, and Director the European Training Program in Brain and Behaviour Research (ETP) sponsored by the European Science Foundation. He is Member of Academia Europaea, Socio Nazionale of Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, Foreign Member of the Institute de France (Académie des Sciences), Member of Accademia delle Scienze of Turin, Honorary Foreign Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and of the National Academy of Science, USA. In 2021 he has been elected member of the Accademia Lombarda di Scienze e Lettere, and Foreign Member of the Royal Society (London).
